The Friends of Prince Memorial Library is a nonprofit organization supported by the generosity of people in our community. Your kind gifts enhance library programming and services that are beyond the allotted town budget.
Our fundraising activities include the Annual Appeal, book sales in October and February, and the ongoing book sale at the library. Thanks to your critically important donations, the Friend support the PML in many ways, including the following:
Youth Services Programs This year's Summer Reading Program featured raffle tickets for prizes, a free book and a Toots ice cream cone. Older kids enjoyed scratch tickets received when checking out books. Both the raffle and scratch tickets were a big hit and as a result, reading time is off the charts!
Library Gardens This Spring a pollinator garden was added for all to enjoy.
Adult Programs The Friends sponsored the Race and Equity Series: Three Voices, with Dustin Ward and Seated Yoga with Rebecca Stephans, both available on Zoom, both extremely popular!
PML Digital Library The Friends are providing a kickstart to build PML's digital collection of ebooks, audio books, and magazines.
Admission Passes: We also provide admission passes to the Portland Museum of Art, Children’s Museum & Theater of Maine, Tate House, Maine Wildlife Park, Maine Maritime Museum, Maine State Parks and the Maine State Museum.
We have purchased garden benches, a bike rack and two picnic tables along with other items to enhance the library.

Despite all the challenges of 2021, the Friends of Prince Memorial Library’s Annual Appeal turned out to be the best one yet! Because of your generous contributions, we are able to continue our support for the library, including Youth Services Programs, and admission passes to parks and museums. During the coming year, we also plan to increase funding for programming along with helping to build the digital library. You make this all possible and we are so grateful.
